Solari & C.Udine Italy - flip clocks

I’ve worked on quite a few of these clocks and marvelled at the Italian engineering. Fascinating clocks to watch especially when they change time to a new hour.
I’m using these Cifra 12s as examples because these clocks can be found driven in 3 different ways. It may apply to the other version although I’ve only seen the Cifra 5 in unipolar
This one uses a mains powered synchronous motor. And has the option of time adjustment with a pulse driven mechanism for step the time forward.

This one used a standard (unipolar) pulse to step the mechanism on. I make an EC4 version impulse driver for this. It also has a fourescent tube fitted which can be very difficult to get out. But it does mean the clock will have 4 wires coming into it.
On the right is an exmple of a battery powered EC5AP fitted in the back of a Cifra 12
This one needs an alternating polarity pulse to step on and the EC5AP drives this style of mechanism.
